Abortion is an artificial termination of pregnancy, when a human interferes with the natural course of life, disrupts it. A woman who has had an abortion has negative medical, psychological, social, religious consequences. The church’s opinion on the intentional termination of pregnancy is unambiguous and is regarded as a grave sin, confirmation of which can be found in the Holy Scriptures and the words of the Holy Fathers. The reasons for abortion are the financial issues, a woman’s unawareness of the sinfulness of her act. Many organized movements, such as «For Life» are fighting against abortion, and hold campaigns at the federal and regional levels.
