About Us

Saint Petersburg Orthodox Doctors Society named after St. Luke (Voyno-Yasenetsky) is a professional union of doctors of various specialties, who profess Orthodox Faith. It was founded 20 years ago in February of 1999.

The purpose of the Society is promoting the development of medical practice based on Orthodox Faith and Christian morality, as well as uniting orthodox doctors of various specialties.

Members of the Society work in numerous leading medical higher educational institutions of the city and major hospitals, where they consult patients seeking help from the Society. As of January 2020 the Society has 158 members: 1 Academician, 12 Doctors of Medical Sciences, 23 Candidates of Medical Science, 57 doctors of the highest and first qualification categories, 42 specialists with work experience of more than 10 years (16 of them with more than 30 years of experience).
